Do you have an old photo, postcard, newspaper clipping, or document from Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, or Westlake Village? We would love to add it here, with full credit to you.

For a historical photo (not a document), the fastest way to share it is our online form — drop a pin on the map, add a few details, and upload the image. It goes to a quick human review before appearing on the site.
How to send us something else
For documents (or if you'd rather email), send a photo of the item (or a scan, if you have one) to:

You can also reply to a post in one of the local Facebook history groups — if you shared a photo there, you (as the owner) are welcome to send us that same photo directly. We do not browse or collect photos from Facebook ourselves; it has to come from you.
What information helps
You don't need to be precise — a rough idea is genuinely enough:
- Roughly where was it taken? (a neighborhood, a landmark, a cross-street — no exact address needed)
- What year-ish? (even "sometime in the 1960s" or "my grandmother's childhood" is useful)
- Any story you remember — who's in it, what was happening, why it mattered to your family
- Your name, so we can credit you (or let us know if you'd rather stay anonymous)
Permission & credit
By submitting a photo or document, you're confirming that you own it or have the right to share it, and that you're okay with it appearing on this public, non-commercial community history site.
Every item we publish is credited to the person or family who shared it (unless you ask to stay anonymous). If you ever change your mind, contact us and we will remove it — no questions asked.
Privacy note
We only ever need a rough location for the map — a neighborhood or landmark is plenty. Please don't feel you need to share exact addresses, and let us know if a photo shows a private home you'd rather not pinpoint too closely.
