About This Project
Why we made this
Every week, old photos of the Conejo Valley — Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Westlake Village — get shared and re-shared in local Facebook groups, then scroll away and disappear. This site is a simple, permanent, searchable home for those photos and documents: a map and gallery anyone can browse, on a phone, without an account.
We're especially glad when longtime residents help us pin a photo to the right spot or fill in a memory we'd have no other way of knowing.
Rights & takedown policy
Every item on this site is either (a) confirmed public domain or openly licensed from an institutional archive, or (b) shared with us directly by someone who owns it or has the right to share it, per our contribute guidelines.
If you believe something here shouldn't be, or you'd like an item removed or corrected, contact us and we will handle it promptly — no questions asked.
